The European Union – Globalism’s Failure?

European globalists accomplished peacefully what Hitler tried to achieve militarily: take over all of Europe. Or did they?

In 1950 the European Union (EU) was set up as the model of globalism. Over sixty years it grew from six to 28 countries. The original six had two things in common: comparable economies and ethnic affinities. This allowed for the creation of a super-nation with a centralized government, to which the various members relinquished some of their sovereignty for the good of the larger state.

But as the union grew, cracks showed. Some economies were stronger than others and poorer countries couldn’t keep pace with stiff EU regulations and mandates.

The Syrian civil war drove millions of Muslims from the Middle East and Africa to Europe. But when they came, crime swelled. Sweden, for example, experienced 22,000 sex crimes in 2017 and 500 Muslim migrants living on the Sweden’s dole were prosecuted..

Refugees also lacked work and language skills. 50% of Muslim men and 75 % of Muslim women still don’t have jobs. Instead, they drained national welfare coffers: 40 percent of Denmark’s, 70 percent of Germany’s, and Sweden spends more on refugees than they do on their national defense. But rather than being grateful, refugees believe they are entitled to this welfare.

Further the EU lacks democracy. Europeans vote only once in five years for Parliament members. There is an EU flag but people rarely salute it or sing the EU anthem. Instead of patriotism, Europe is split between Muslim no-go zones and European neighborhoods.

By contrast, Frenchmen feel their country has lost its soul, becoming a secularized,  socialist welfare state after a tradition of Catholicism, genius philosophers and famous monuments. People now see France as a “pool of decadence”

A nation, much less something larger, must have assimilation to thrive. So why won’t most Muslims assimilate? The answer rests in Islam itself..

Islam is a tribal religion. The Quran reveres the tribal culture – the family, the clan. Both are sacred. But Islam creator Mohammed envisioned a greater family – an ummah. What made the ummah so special? Mohammed said it not only linked ummah members but linked them to God directly. This divine bond invigorated members to obey Allah and fight in his cause. Today this godly connection elevates tribesmen of lesser rank to “the best nation brought out for mankind.”

Thus Muslims in Europe don’t want to assimilate, but convert Western society to Islam. This is a disturbing cultural and religious conundrum. Worse, Muslim militancy angers many Europeans who want to end immigration and preserve their national sovereignty. Still most European leaders want immigration to achieve a central world government. This pits nationalists against globalists in an increasingly nasty way.

What makes a society? Language and culture. If the EU can’t achieve this where there is a natural Western affinity, where can mini-globalism exist?

And if one government and financial system could be achieved, who would run the world? The U.S. and China? Russia and China? Iran and Israel?
